Hello Friend,
As promised, I’m sharing a few thoughts related to work culture this time. I observed a negative trend by reading forums and boards where local developers gather. When I say local, I mean the country where I live and neighboring countries. Many people complain about agile processes, like scrum, then strongly oppose some office rules, etc. A list is long. Imho the source of frustration comes from the work environment. I’m explaining myself below.
Next week I’m continuing with some tech mumbo jumbo…
Until next week,
Robert
Is Outsourcing Killing Developers
I split software companies into startups, companies with products(product companies), and outsourcing. They all have different goals and principles. I was lucky(or not) to try them all. Comparing what I experienced and heard from others, I think outsourcing is bad for a developer’s career. They are hard to avoid when working in a country that does not have a strong innovation culture, where it is hard to start and fail. Because after failure, you should have a chance to begin again…
Anyway, I want to tell you what I learned and why outsourcing kills developers’ innovation skills and willingness to go outside their comfort zone. The full text is here on my blog.
I’m interested in your thoughts, so let me know what you think about this.
